That’s all part of proper maintenance for your car, as covered in Top 10 Car Care Tips. Brake fluid changes are relatively cheap, so you should have it done every year or two. Besides causing spongy brakes, water in the brake fluid causes corrosion that can ruin calipers and brake cylinders. In general, it is wise to have your brake fluid changed periodically. In most cases, that will get the brakes back to operating normally, unless there’s another problem with the brakes. The easiest thing to do about spongy brakes is to change the fluid. Or in some cases, the brake fluid can actually boil if the brakes get too hot. If there’s any water in the brake line, heat from the brakes can vaporize the water, resulting in that spongy feeling. The most common causes of this trouble stem from the brake fluid itself. That leads to a spongy feel at the brake pedal. If you’ve got something other than brake fluid inside those lines, the brake fluid is less efficient in transferring force. Car brakes use a hydraulic fluid that transfers force through high-pressure brake lines. Also, what is the UVO connection to a smartphone? My car doesn't seem to have it.Spongy brakes are generally the result of air, gas or water inside the hydraulic system. The My Kia app is supposed to help me manage the car but i cannot find the right one to download. However, it covers other models with much different older equipment and this is confusing.

The manual is huge and well translated into Spanish. Love it so far, it is like a computer with wheels with all kinds of driving assistance which, for an old person like me, are great once I understand how they work. Comfortable, eco-efficient, and very modern. I understand that the 2022 model has 7 more HP, which is great in mountainous Coahuila state.

I like that it still has rear back windows as opposed to the newer designs with slanty holes. I forgot to press the brake early on and couldn't get it running while it was sliding into traffic. The Niro's hi-tech is high even for a techie like me. Like S California but without forest fires, landslides, and nasty earthquakes. Why I like sunroof? I live in Queretaro and the climate is gorgeous almost everyday. The style is modern and much better looking than the rounded-roof Prius without a possible sun roof. I hadn't bought a new car since a 2005 Jetta Wagon TDI, so I am in awe of the incredible technology in this car. At 12,000 miles per year and $3 gallon, the difference is about $9 per month. Kia explains it as a consequence of added weight and aerodynamic differences. Interior ComfortĪ fully loaded 2017 Kia Niro Touring with the Advanced Technology Package stickers around $32,500 with destination, and includes a bunch of cool features. The Niro also performs well in parking lots, thanks to a tight turning radius, standard backup camera, good outward visibility, and available rear cross-traffic alert. While the Niro’s quick-shifting 6-speed dual-clutch transmission, independent rear suspension, and decent driving feel help compensate for the Niro’s challenged power-to-weight ratio, the Niro remains first and foremost a practical mileage-maxer. Kia likes to talk about the new Niro being fun to drive - there’s even a Sport driving mode - but keep your expectations in check. In-town acceleration was never a problem, and the Niro proved smooth and responsive in the go-turn-stop-repeat of city driving. Once up to speed the Niro proved quiet and comfortable for a car of its stature, and a long list of available safety and convenience technologies help to reduce driver effort and increase confidence. Seamless acceleration and braking aside, 139 horsepower is not a lot for a vehicle that weighs more than 3,000 pounds, and we had to tap every bit of its output during highway merging and passing. The Niro’s newly developed gasoline-electric powertrain is Kia’s best hybrid system yet, resulting in a car that drives less like a complex hybrid and more like a good ol’ gas-guzzler.
